Soft Sugar Cookies (Cutouts)

Cookie Dough

Cream together:

1        -        Cup            Soft Butter

1        -        Cup            Sugar

Add and cream:

2                                    Eggs

1        -        TSP             Vanilla

Mix in:

3        -        Cups           Flour

2        ¼       Tsp             Baking Powder

½       -        Tsp             Salt

Mix in:

2        -        Tbs              Milk

  1. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
  2. Chill dough.
  3. Roll out into 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick sheet. Thicker is better.
  4. Cut into shapes.
  5. Bake at 375o until slightly brown. Do not burn.
  6. Cool and Frost.

Frosting

2        -        Cups           Powdered Sugar

2        -        Tbs              Melted Butter

3        -        Tbs             Whole Milk (more can be added if needed)

-        1/2     Tsp             Vanilla

-        -        -                  Food Coloring (as needed)

More milk may be added if frosting is too thick. Use a butter knife or spatula to spread frosting onto sugar cookies. Add decorative sprinkles while frosting is still wet.
